ILS Distance Learning manuals produced for the German company ILS, Institut für Lernsysteme GmbH, a market leader in distance-learning materials. At drupa, ILS and Xerox will discuss and demonstrate portions of the highly automated workflow these manuals demand, beginning with the use of PrintCise software that validates orders, creates production jobs, and submits them based on the highlight color needed, load balance considerations and collation requirements. The ILS manuals are produced on a DocuTech 180 HighLight Color System with finishing done on a C.P. Bourg Book Binder 2005. The manuals are then transported, stacked and controlled with Berning equipment, collated on a Boewe collation robot and trimmed on a Horizon trimmer.
“As a market leader, we always have to provide the very latest learning materials. Print on demand not only makes it possible – but also profitable,” said Ingo Karsten, CEO, ILS.
